Our History
As a second-generation mechanic, Michael Brown grew up around cars.
Whilst at high school, he completed a week of work experience with Tony and Robin Williams in 1996. After working the subsequent two week’s school holidays at T.H. Williams Automotive, Tony offered Michael an apprenticeship for the following year.
Accepting Tony’s offer, Michael worked at T.H. Williams for seven years – from 1996 until 2003.
Venturing out on his own, Michael ran his mobile mechanical repair business until establishing Fleetmaster Automotive in 2007, building a loyal following of repeat customers over 11 years.
With Tony and Robin looking to retire after 40 years running T.H. Williams, the opportunity for Michael to take over the shop was simply too good to refuse. Michael, his wife Angela and four children moved to the new, much larger premises and returned to where Michael’s career began 22 years earlier, continuing the long tradition of exceptional service and customer satisfaction, of both T.H. Williams and Fleetmaster Automotive.
The workshop is on the site of the original Black Horse Garage, a petrol station and mechanical workshop opened back in 1935. Michael will continue it’s proud history of serving the Hawkesbury for many years to come!
Michael and Tony, back in the day!
